Interview with Maggie Luna

Maggie Luna is a speaker and activist. She is a graduate of the Anthony Graves Smart Justice Speakers Bureau and a Policy Analyst and Outreach Coordinator for the Texas Center for Justice and Equality. In this interview, Luna talks about her experiences with the criminal justice system. In the first part of the interview, Luna talks about her life experiences which led her to be incarcerated. She also elaborates on her experiences in prison and how that made her feel. Luna also discusses her experiences being released from prison and what it was like transitioning to life outside of prison. In the second part of the interview, she elaborates on what each of her relationships with her family members is like and how going to prison impacted those relationships. Luna also shares her definition of justice and how she wishes that would be applied to the criminal justice system. Maggie Luna was interviewed by Jane Field of Texas After Violence Project in Houston, Texas, on September 18, 2022.
